My name is Josh Conley and it's an honor for me to serve as the Assistant Superintendent of Hamilton Local Schools. I joined the Hamilton Local School District in 2002, where I student-taught and coached 7th-grade boys basketball for Hamilton Middle School. From 2003 to 2007, I taught at Hamilton Intermediate School. During this time, I continued coaching middle school basketball, as well as track, and spent my last year coaching boys' basketball at Hamilton Township High School.
I earned a Master's of Education in School Administration in 2005 from Ashland University. In 2007, I was named the assistant principal of Hamilton Elementary School. During my time in this role, I earned my Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from the Concordia University of Chicago. I served as the principal of Hamilton Elementary School from 2015 to 2021. During the 2021-2022 school year, I served as the principal of Hamilton Township High School.
I began my tenure as Assistant Superintendent in August of 2022. I am sincerely thankful for the support and trust of our community and promise to continue my effort to work tirelessly toward instilling high expectations for all.
I serve as the Chief Administrative Officer of the district in the absence of the Superintendent. I am responsible for evaluating the performance of our Head Principals, Business and Operations Director, Technology Director, and our Residency/Enrollment Administrative Assistant/Homeless Liaison. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to, assisting the Superintendent and Treasurer in budgetary considerations, supporting the district's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework, which includes working closely with building administrative teams for consistent and effective practices that ensure fair and equitable student outcomes, coordinating Human Resources activities for certified and classified employees, including interviewing candidates and operating the evaluation process, working with the Superintendent in the recruitment and selection for recommendation of administrative personnel, leading Assistant Principal meetings, chairing or otherwise coordinating various district committees and initiatives, contributing to the planning and organization of in-service programs, serving on Superintendent Council, assisting the Superintendent in staff and community public relations, acting as liaison with social, professional, civic, volunteer and other community agencies and groups having an interest in the schools as directed by the Superintendent.
